Si avvicina il 4 luglio, data in cui gli Stati Uniti d’America festeggiano la loro indipendenza. Una solennità molto amata e sentita, che non a caso Chloe Crabtree ha scelto come tema per il suo nuovo blog hop. Per i non americani, la richiesta era di preparare una tavola che riproponesse i colori della bandiera USA, e così ho fatto.
Come base, ho scelto il mio amato runner in lino chiaro. Per dare un primo tocco di blu, ho utilizzato le tovagliette a petali che avete già visto tante volte e che non smettono di piacermi. Le ho abbinate ai miei piatti australiani bianchi, rossi e blu che – per colori e per dettagli decorativi – mi parevano perfetti per l’occasione.
A completare il posto tavola, le ormai pluriutilizzate posate rosse e bianche, e dei tovaglioli blu sempre in lino.
Anche la coppia di bicchieri riprende la palette della tavola.
Molto semplice l’aspetto decorativo. Ho immaginato di apparecchiare per una cena a due sotto le stelle, e dunque non ho voluto far mancare qualche tocco romantico. Come segnaposto ho scelto due candelieri in vetro blu con le loro semplici candele bianche.
A centrotavola invece c’è una ciotola in ceramica blu che raccoglie succose ciliegie rosse punteggiate dagli ultimissimi fiori del gelsomino. Mi piaceva l’idea di qualcosa che non fosse solo decorativo: e me li vedo, a fine cena, i due innamorati che piluccano a turno una ciliegia dietro l’altra con le mani che si sfiorano e gli occhi negli occhi.
